Vietnam Teacher’s day
One of almost popular festivals in Vietnam is Vietnam Teacher’s day. As its name, it’s a special day for teachers. On 20th November annual, it’s celebrated for students to show their respect and love to teachers. The students usually give presents, flowers and beautiful wishes to their beloved teachers.
The Vietnam Teacher’s day is set by international organization of educators progress established in Paris, France in May 7th, 1946. The name of this organization is FISE (Syndicale des Enseignants Federtion International – International Federation of Trade Union education) on 20th November. FISE organization has built a “Charter educators” in Vacsxava 1949 conference. This “Charter educators” includes 15 chapters which its main content were to improve the education system, protect the teacher’s physical and mental rights, and give prominence to the teacher’s duties and positions in society.
The Vietnam's education union has ties to organizations FISE through the period of constitutional resistance against the French invasion. The purpose of it was to denounce the crimes of conspiracy imperialists aggression against Vietnamese people, in particular was for teachers and students, in the international forum. In addition, the purpose of it also was to introduced the achievements of the education revolution, enlist the sympathy and support of education about the world of the righteous struggle of Vietnamese people. Then, in early 1953, the Vietnamese Teacher’s union was admitted to FISE, when Vice Minister of National Education Minister Nguyen Khanh Toan attended the meeting important admitted trade union education. Therefore, annual 20th November, the Vietnam Teacher’s day is held as a very special occasion for the student to show or express their feeling for their teacher.
